The GETAWAY WYSPA Z WIDOKIEM

A holiday house with a view of the water, on a small island in the Kamień Lagoon on Poland's Baltic coast.

Visualisations · Milwicz Architekci

Arrival

A home not only for living, but for being.

Milwicz Architekci

A house that lets the view take the lead

The GETAWAY sits between meadow and water on Chrząszczewska Island. Large glass walls bring the landscape inside. By day the light dances on the water; by evening everything turns quiet and warm.

Wood in natural tones, stone, concrete and soft fabrics. A calm palette of beige, white, ash and timber. Nothing demands attention. The landscape plays the lead.

Architecture

Glass, wood and silence

Open glass front with living area and terrace
I

Floor-to-ceiling glass

The front opens almost completely. Living, dining and terrace flow into one another, and the meadow reaches right up to the windows.

II

Wood meets stone

Furniture in naturally toned wood brings warmth. The terrazzo kitchen island sets a calm contrast, and the concrete floor holds everything together.

Light on the move

Light pours through the glazing, reflects off the water and glides across every surface. In the evening, hidden lighting creates an almost intimate mood.

Afternoon

Wide meadow, open water

The house sits low in the landscape: a green roof, dark timber and glass.

Blue hour

When the windows glow

As the sun sets over the lagoon, the house becomes a lantern in the meadow.

By the fire

Arrive and slow down

A fire in the hearth, water beyond the windows. Nothing else needed.
